CONFERENCE – New research tool on Luxembourg art: www.konschtlexikon.lu

About the speaker :
Jamie Armstrong
, Art Historian & Museologist, Head of the Lëtzebuerger Konschtarchiv

Malgorzata Nowara, Doctor of Art History, Project Manager at the Lëtzebuerger Konschtarchiv

Description: Immerse yourself in Luxembourg’s dynamic visual arts sector with the Lëtzebuerger Konschtlexikon.

This bilingual biographical dictionary and database seamlessly links the lives of Luxembourg artists, gallerists, curators, critics, art historians and collectors to exhibitions (solo and group), awards, organisations, associations and institutions. Constantly evolving, this living database offers a free and dynamic digital platform for scientific research, as well as for the general public.

The Konschtlexikon was created within the Lëtzebuerger Konschtarchiv, at the Musée national d’archéologie, d’histoire et d’art du Luxembourg (MNAHA). During the conference, you will be given a practical introduction to all its possible functions, based on the first 15 biographies recorded.

It provides an invaluable starting point for exploring Luxembourg’s captivating visual arts sector, as well as a number of keys (e.g. signatures) essential to the possible attribution of a work of art and the contextualisation of its author.
