Exceptional Jizai Okimono of a Dragon

The dragon is made from individually carved ivory parts and is therefore articulated and movable. These types of Jizai Okimono are extremely rare to find. The dragon is made of ivory, bone and has residual paint.

Bronze of Kannon

Kannon is sitting on a dark rock and has a silvered mandorla behind the head.

Japan, late 19th C., Meiji Period.

Finely carved Netsuke of a skull with a snake located on the head. Made of ivory.

Satsuma of Kannon

The standing Kannon is posed on top of a pedestal, wearing a long and richly decorated robe.

This Satsuma contains so-called “Gosu Blue” enamels. Japan, around 1900 – Meiji Period.
